As many of our customers know, we at Campanello's have been involved in an ongoing battle with the City of Cincinnati over the availability of parking in the 4th Street/Central Avenue area.  As a result, we now have more parking meters in front of the restaurant, a free parking lane in the middle of the street (which has a two hour time limit until 5p.m.), as well as a metered lot close by.  Occasionally however, finding an open parking space can still be a bit difficult.

What is even worse is that this is a problem not only in our neighborhood, but all over downtown.  This is part of the reason people are staying out of downtown altogether.  Our hope is that when the Fort Washington Way Project is finished, many of these parking headaches will go away.  Sadly, we know that will not be the case.

If we are serious about wanting to revitalize Downtown Cincinnati, we have to give people a place to park their cars when they come down.  We must also keep the price reasonable.  We here at Campanello's urge you, the customer, to take a few minutes and let your City Government know how you feel about this important local issue.  You can do so by writing to city council, or to a few local newspapers and television stations (like for instance, The Cincinnati EnquirerCitybeat, Downtowner, as well as News Channels 5, 9, 12 and Fox19 just to name a few).  Both the Cincinnati Office of Economic Development, as well as Downtown Cincinnati Inc. are always interested in local feedback about parking downtown.

The only way to make a change in the way things are run is to make your opinion heard.  It only takes a few moments, and your letter could make all the difference in the world.  We thank you for taking an interest in the future of Downtown Cincinnati.
